Dim the lights....let the previews begin.
I cannot imagine a world without movies. 120+ minutes of escapism. I am simply astonished day after day, of the writing behind these remarkable performances. Brilliant, risk taking, provocative, emotional, captivating, and raw.
Here are a few trailers of some upcoming movies that I would like to see... (Can you tell I love a little indie..?)

Art with a story...
Guillermo Forchino.
He first caught my attention, when I was living in Powell River. We have a local grocery store called "Quality Foods", that has a gift shop upstairs. It is filled with kitchen gadgets, art, and other unique quirky items. I was walking around, and then I saw it. A wild, and crazy, Volkswagen hippie van, that was made with caricature characters! It was love at first sight.
"The Good Ol' Days``
I had to find out more, so I checked out his website, and instantly fell in love! The detail that goes into each piece, is simply unreal.
Love, Love, Love!!!!
`The Doctor is in``
``Couch Potato``

No Sleep Till Brooklyn...
Today, a pioneer of music passed away. Adam Yauch, a.k.a MCA, from the stupendous posse, known as the Beastie Boys.
This trio defined my adolescence, and it truly saddens me, to lose such an inspirational contributor to the music industry. 47 years old, is far too young.
You will forever be missed. We'll continue to fight for our right......
Rest in Peace.

Expression
“When we do face the difficult times, we need to remember that circumstances don’t make a person, they reveal a person. ” ~Emma Jameson
I haven't blogged in a while. I am not sure if it's because I've lost inspiration, or that I'm busy, or a mixture of both. I seem to get all of these ideas in my head, and then just get overwhelmed. I've had a notebook in my bag for the last year, and I have scribbled so much in it, so now is just a good time as any, to start dissecting through my chicken scratch.
I love the site vimeo.com. Such a creative space, for so many people to share their work, and inspiration. I have been watching a lot of videos from Director/Editor Eliot Rausch. His ability to capture raw, emotional, moments from people, through their stories, is absolutely captivating and heart wrenching. I have really enjoyed his work, and wanted to share some. You can check out the rest of his work on Vimeo.

My Groove
Presently, I am in the middle of moving, but wanted to post what I've been listening to.
Be back, when I get settled in :)
xo
**Had the pleasure of seeing Dallas Green, a.k.a City and Colour, live recently. It was certainly not a disappointment.
I was standing at the bus stop today....and this song came on. I instantly smiled. I love it when a song does that ;)

This next song goes out to.......
“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent" ~ Victor Hugo
What's been rotating in my playlist:
**I absolutely adore Mother Mother.I had the pleasure of seeing them live recently at the Commodore Ballroom, in Vancouver. They certainly didn't disappoint. Just a good ol' Indie rock band from peaceful, Quadra Island.**
**Apparat is new to me, but I am loving the ambient sound, and look forward to hearing more**
**I am loving the sound from this Vancouver duo, Data Romance. Ajay Bhattacharyya and Amy Kirkpatrick, both 25, came from Victoria, and were signed to Street Quality Entertainment. I love their sound, so they get two videos ;) **
**And what can I say about Lana Del Ray...this woman's voice is hauntingly beautiful. Enough said.**
**This song made its way to me via my one of my many musical soul mates, Miss Julie Foster. Love it so much. I plan to learn much more about Altos Lugares. The sound is addicting.**
Keep filling your souls with good beats.

What do you know for sure?
Well hello 2012!!
I can remember when I was little, thinking about the "Millennium", and all the magic and curiosity it brought me. Now, 12 years in, I still feel the same way. Every year, wait a minute, every DAY, we have new opportunities to challenge this life we have been given. Every day I learn more and more, and take less and less for granted.
I'm not really much of a "resolution" kind of girl. Probably, because they have never really worked for me. I am starting to realize more and more everyday, that it's the daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals that really matter, that really help me stay on track. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against resolutions. I think it's just mind over matter, and I look at it personally from a different perspective.
A wise woman once asked me, "What is your NEW and EXCITING?" Which has become an integral part of my personal well being. What am I doing to further myself, to enjoy life more, to help others?
What is YOUR new and exciting, everyday?
I will say that my new and exciting, is LIFE, with a whole lot of other things. It's fantastic, and it's shocking what you can accomplish with the right attitude. You just have to maintain pace. Slow and steady.
So as another new year is upon us, challenge yourself. Go on that road trip, try out for that band, read 10 books in a month, audition for everything. Just do YOU at the end of the day, and you can't go wrong.
Get to know yourself.
Here's a little somethin' somethin' Oprah learned from Jim Carrey ;)
To everyone in my life, I thank you. Somehow/someway, you have all helped me and continue to help me on my path.
Happy New Year!
